India Results on July 30

• Archer Deepika Kumari enters quarterfinals
• Avinash Sable creates a new national record in the men’s 3000m steeplechase heats

Athletics Result: Avinash Sable finished in the seventh position in heat 2 of the men’s 3000m steeplechase with a timing of 8:18:12 and he has broken the national record. His national record was at 8:20:20s at the Federation Cup in Patiala and Avinash bettered his own record in Tokyo. However, he might not qualify for the final. 

Athletics: Avinash Sable gets India’s athletics event underway as he is in action in the men’s 3000m steeplechase heats.  The first three along with the next fastest six will qualify for the final.

Archery Update: Deepika beats Perova to win Women’s 1/8 Elimination Round and march into the quarterfinals. Having tied 5-5, the match went into the shoot-out where Deepika fired a perfect 10 to enter the quarters.

Archery: Deepika Kumari is in action and she is up against Ksenia Perova of Russia in the Women’s 1/8 Elimination Round. After winning the first set, Deepika lost the second set but comes back to win the third set. The Indian is leading 4-2.

The attention now shifts to Athletics where star Indian sprinters will be in action but boxer Lovlina Borgohain and archer Deepika Kumari will aim for podium finishes on Friday.

It will also be a day where Fouaad Mirza, will make his Olympics debut in Equestrian. Also in action will be the Golfers and Archers.
